The Gallery Commission rate is 35%.

Call for Art: Eye Spy: Lover's Eye - Curated by Diane Savino - August 30 - September 21, 2024

The theme of “the eye” will be the focus of this exhibition. During the Georgian period in England, the Prince of Wales became infatuated with Maria Fitzherbert. Sadly, British law prevented royals from marrying a Catholic. Their forbidden love was expressed through small eye portraits which were set into fine jewelry pieces and exchanged. The love tokens maintained the anonymity of the lovers. The lover’s eye trend became popularized by other nobles who engaged in secret affairs of the heart.
Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme creatively and to express their unique vision to evoke a modern lover’s eye. The work should be miniature or small in stature to convey intimacy. Art must be no larger than 12” x 12” framed/dimensional. All work should be ready to hang/exhibit.
Artists working in drawing, painting, mixed-media, printmaking, sculpture and photography may submit up to 5 images for inclusion.
